UPDATED: Scavenger Hunt & Pics from Amman!

Amman Citadel: We had a scavenger hunt today, the weather wasn’t perfect but the students were! ðŸ™‚
We spent the first 3 days of our trip getting to know some of the important neighborhoods in Amman. On Thursday, students put this knowledge to the test as they embarked on a scavenger hunt. They went around the neighborhoods we had been to in teams, and tried to complete different tasks, including finding a phone to call one of the instructors, posting on the yak board, finding the biggest shawarma, learning the difference between different types of knafeh, going to specific shops, and more. Unfortunately, the weather, which had been beautiful the first three days, was rainy and raw. We expected them to be a bit grumpy at the end, but each group returned with a sense of accomplishment and a story to tell. We’ve been so proud of how they’ve approached new situations with curiosity and a willingness to try. Everyone was very proud of what they had accomplished and were eager to describe how they overcame challenges. When we met to discuss their experiences and decide who the “winner” was, the kids surprised us again when Avery suggested they all explain why they thought a different team should win- and they ended up unanimously declaring Alli, Jean, and Dawit the winning team.

RAINY ADVENTURES IN AMMAN
This is Niy coming at you from the Internet Cafe in Amman. Next to me are Katherine and Matteo. We just enjoyed some khanafa and shwarma in the rain, making friends and walking the streets while our instructors are sitting cozy at home base. It’s pouring rain and we are super wet. Too bad today is the day to walk the Medina, but that’s not stopping us from taking the gold. Stay tuned.

DREAM TEAM CHECK-IN
Hey everybody!

It’s currently day five in Jordan. We will be leaving Amman and heading south early tomorrow morning.

We are currently writing from an internet cafe, as we are in the middle of an intense battle to win a scavenger hunt. Our instructors have split us into groups of three and four. Each group has been provided 25 JOD and a set of tasks to complete all over the city. We hope that the instructors are staying warm on this cold, wet day. ☺️
